El Portal Visitors Center serves as a gateway to El Yunque National Rainforest, offering visitors access to information, exhibits, a café, and a theater. The facility’s revitalization was a design-build collaboration led by Marvel in partnership with Interlink Construction Puerto Rico.

As part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, El Yunque’s management aimed to move away from the perception of a traditional federal institution, creating a more inviting and approachable identity for the center.

The wayfinding and signage design aligned with the visual language established by the exhibit designers, ensuring a cohesive experience throughout the space. Inspired by the exhibit typography, the graphics integrate thoughtful visual elements while presenting information bilingually in English and Spanish to cater to a diverse audience.
